Regretting You by Colleen Hoover is yet another heart-wrenching story, you will find it hard to hold back your tears.  I always have high expectations for this author and again she has not disappointed me. I often thought what else can she write about, what new story this time? Oh my I was so so surprised with this one, it definitely became the new number one for me. The setting of the book is always simple, nothing dramatic at first. Then slowly all those difficult life choices will ease in and then before you know it, the book ended because it is such a great page turner.

With two character's point of view, the author nailed the perspectives of both of them. When one chapter ends for one, the next begins for another. This alternating method is what keeps you gripped into the story because of the wanting to know what happens to them next. Without a doubt, Morgan is the one who shines in the plots because you can help but sympathise with her, to feel her pain and also at the same time to cheer her on. Although some points you would be yelling at her or shaking your head for the decisions she makes, but you'll come to understand why. You would not have expected her reaction to everything that came crashing down on her and yet certain choices are pretty obvious.

As for Clara, she is your typical teenager who has her whole world turned upside down, reacting the way a typical teenager would have. No surprise there but it is the way she interacts with her mother that makes you continue on with her story. Will she grow from all these? You'll have to keep reading because as we can't help but wish the best for both of them. Relationships is the key to fixing everything and yet it is the key to permanently damaging everything as well. Both characters' personalities clashes so often you would not know how to react. The interaction with other characters in the book are also plot line pushers, without them, this book could not move on as well as it did.

The plots are so well written, there's impact every time a plot twist happens. Your heart must be ready to go through the ups and a lot of downs with the characters. Genre like these can often be predictable but this author's forte is you would never guessed it. To say that this is a roller coaster ride will do it no justice, it is more than that. Sometimes I am out of words on how to describe her works, because it is not enough to convey the feelings that come out of it.

Retaining her spot as my most favorite slice of life writer, I will continue to support her. If anyone wants a good cry, this is definitely the book that I will recommend. I truly hope Colleen Hoover continues to write great stories like this. If I talked about the values that this book conveyed, I would feel that I will reveal too much. So I will end that of every book you've read from this author, there is always a lesson learnt from it.
